Are you a runner or are you a zombie? You choose!
In this slightly scary timed 5k race, you can race through our tunnels and trails dodging zombies or you can live out your nightmares of being a zombie and chase runners while you try and eat their brains (or flags in this case).

HOW IT WORKS

Runners will receive a flag football belt with 4 flags attached.  You will be released from the starting line in waves and run along Brambleton's 5k course that weaves along our trails and into the tunnels.
As you make your way, zombies will be there to greet you and try and steal your health (your flags).

There will be two types of zombies -
  • Chaser Zombies - these zombies are allowed to actually chase you for up to 5 seconds (doesn't seem like much until you have one on your tail).
  • Creeping Zombies - these zombies will only lunge at you.  They won't chase you down the path but they will be good at blocking the path as you run by.
Runners will complete the course even if they have no flags left.  They do not turn into zombies because let's face it, we all know that zombie transformation takes a little time.

WAVES / TEAMS

- There will be rolling waves of runners leaving from the start line. You will receive your wave time a few days prior to the event through email.  If you would like to run with someone, make sure you sign up as a team.  We will do our best to make sure all teams run together.
If you are a Zombie Team, we will try and place you on the trail near each other but keep in mind, you might be spread out down the trail.

REGISTRATION INCLUDES

- a sweet event t-shirt, race bib, finishers medal stating infected or survivor, plus an invite to the after party at Lost Rhino Retreat!

AWARDS

will be given out to -
  • Runners that have at least one flag at the end - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
  • Zombies that have the most health flags - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place
